Australia Continues to Lead the Way in Global Healthy Campus Movement

Notre Dame and UTS Join FISU Healthy Campus Program, Strengthening Australia’s Leadership

Australia continues to set the benchmark in fostering healthier university environments, with The University of Notre Dame Australia (Notre Dame) and the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) becoming the 11th and 12th Australian universities to sign up for the FISU Healthy Campus Program. This milestone reinforces Australia’s global leadership, boasting the highest percentage of universities engaged in the program worldwide.

The FISU Healthy Campus Program is an internationally recognised initiative designed to enhance the well-being of students and staff by promoting physical activity, mental health support, sustainable campus environments, and healthier lifestyle choices. With this latest addition, Australia’s universities are demonstrating their strong commitment to creating campuses that prioritise holistic well-being.

UniSport Australia has been instrumental in driving participation in the program, working closely with universities to champion health-focused initiatives. To support this effort, UniSport has launched a dedicated Healthy Campus website – healthycampuses.unisport.com.au – as a central hub for resources, information, and success stories. Additionally, UniSport has introduced a monthly Healthy Campus newsletter, available to anyone interested in learning more about the program and other well-being initiatives across Australian campuses.

“UniSport’s vision is to build vibrant, sustainable and healthy communities across Australia, and we are proud to see more institutions joining the FISU Healthy Campus Program,” said Mark Sinderberry, CEO of UniSport Australia. “This initiative is an important step toward fostering healthier, more engaged communities, and we are thrilled to see more universities sign up.”

With Australia continuing to lead the charge in this global movement, UniSport remains committed to expanding the program’s reach and impact. Universities interested in joining the FISU Healthy Campus Program or learning more about existing initiatives can visit the website or subscribe to the newsletter for the latest updates.
