Research: Fit for the Future! The Role of Universities in Preventing Lifestyle Diseases

Although students understand the benefits of staying active, many face barriers like tight schedules, limited facilities, financial stress, and mental health challenges. These can lead to inactivity and increased risk of non-communicable diseases. Research shows students who feel mentally supported are more likely to be active. Universities can play a vital role by providing accessible and affordable options such as campus facilities, study breaks, or health programs boosting both student wellbeing and academic outcomes while leading in disease prevention.
